Start menu folder and Program folder recreated in wrong place
Hi,
Thought I'd see whether this was successful in restoring a small simple utility - Aquasnap.
Unfortunately it failed to recreate the start menu folder and the program folder in the original places. The restored program ran.. but...
What did I do?
1. Aquasnap was installed
(Start menu at
C:\Users\DavidAdmin\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Vista Gui Utilities\AquaSnap
Program folder at
D:\Vista GUI\Aquasnap)
(the default "C:\Program Files" is replaced with D:\ in the registry)
2. I ran PickmeApp and captured Aquasnap.
3. I uninstalled Aquasnap.
4. PickmeApp was still running. I restored Aquasnap.
5. Inspecting the start menu, I found a folder in the root of the start menu for Aquasnap at
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\AquaSnap
not at
C:\Users\DavidAdmin\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Vista Gui Utilities\AquaSnap
6. The program folder was now
D:\Utilities\Tray tools, which is actually a folder for an entirely different program.
Could you tell me how to avoid this and obtain a correct outcome, with the start menu folder and program folder in the right place?
Vista 32 bit. English.
Thanks! dalchina
(Previously I've used SoftRescue (which functions somewhat similarly) and PCmover).
Problem was not reproduced but issue was confirmed

We have tried to reproduce this problem.
Windows Vista 32bit Eng, Aquasnap v1.5.3.
* Start menu is at C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\AquaSnap. * Program folder is at D:\Vista GUI\Aquasnap -
(chosen during installation, default C:\Program Files\Aquasnap).
* Start menu is the same place : C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\AquaSnap.
* Program folder is at C:\Vista GUI\Aquasnap.
We saw that the system was installed on disk C: instead of disk D: while preserving a path.
We are looking for solution...
Thank you again for pointing us the problem
